Auto zoom

A zoom in video editor that places every zoom for you

In most editors, a zoom is two keyframes and some fiddling. In ScreenRecordii, every click you make while recording becomes a zoom on the timeline, aimed at the right spot and eased like a camera.

In short

ScreenRecordii logs the time and position of every click while you record. When you stop, clicks close together are grouped into zooms that start just before the action and ease out after it. Each zoom can be moved, resized, set to a size by hand, aimed manually, or turned into a lens that magnifies one spot and leaves the rest of the frame still.

Why zooms matter in a screen recording

Screens are big and the interesting part is small: a button, a field, a number. Viewers on a laptop or a phone can’t read 13-point interface text at full-screen scale. A zoom brings the action to a readable size, and easing back out shows where it happened.

Doing that by hand is the slow part of editing a screen recording. You scrub to each click, set a start and end keyframe, set the scale and position, and adjust the easing. A ten-minute demo can have forty of them.

How the zooms are made

  1. Clicks are logged as you record

Their exact time and place on screen, not guessed from the video afterwards.

  2. Nearby clicks share a zoom

Clicks a few seconds apart become one longer zoom, so the camera doesn’t pump in and out.

  3. The camera eases like a camera

A spring moves it, so zooms settle instead of snapping, and follow the cursor within the zoom when it moves on.

  4. With the controls you clicked

If you allow it, ScreenRecordii notes the button or field under each click and frames the whole control, not just the pointer.

Zoom or lens

Classic zoom

The whole frame moves in. Best for working in one area for a while, such as filling a form.

Lens

A round magnifier over one spot, with the rest of the frame where it was. Best for a single number or small control, without losing context.

Questions

Can I add my own zooms?

Yes. Add one at the playhead, drag it into place, and either let it follow your clicks or aim it at an area by hand. You can set exactly how much it zooms.

What if I don’t want a zoom somewhere?

Turn it off or delete it. Zooms you’ve changed are never replaced when zooms are regenerated.

What is AI magic?

An optional button that looks at sampled frames and the timing of your clicks, scrolls and shortcuts, and places zooms where it thinks they help. It uses your own API key, asks before sending anything, and never sends what you typed.

Does it work on recordings made with other apps?

You can import a video, but automatic zooms need ScreenRecordii’s click log, so imported videos get manual zooms.
