Screen recording with webcam, done properly

Your face makes a recording feel personal. ScreenRecordii records your camera alongside the screen and lets you place it, shape it and switch it as the video goes.

In short

ScreenRecordii records your camera on its own track while it records the screen. Afterwards you choose how it appears: a round or square bubble in any corner, a side-by-side split, or full frame, and you can switch between them at points on the timeline. It can cut out your background without a green screen, follow your face, and hide the camera during long silences.

Camera options

Bubble

In any corner, round or rounded square. It shrinks a little while the screen is zoomed, so it doesn’t cover the action.

Split

Camera and screen side by side, for talking-head explanations.

Full frame

Just you, for intros, outros and asides. Changes between layouts animate.

Cut-out

Your background removed and you placed over the wallpaper, with no green screen.

Questions

Is the camera recorded separately?

Yes, on its own track, so you can change its layout, size or position after recording.

Can I use my iPhone as the camera?

If macOS offers your iPhone as a camera (Continuity Camera), you can pick it like any other camera.

Can I hide the camera for part of the video?

Yes: switch layouts on the timeline, or let it hide itself during long silences.
